Free Legal Consultations for Albuquerque and the Surrounding Area Residents
The highly anticipated Law-La-Palooza is back and better than ever after a three-year-long break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Hosted by the Volunteer Attorney Program of New Mexico Legal Aid in partnership with the Second Judicial District Pro Bono Committee, Law-La-Palooza will take place on Friday, August 25, 2023, at the Cesar Chavez Community Center located at 7505 Kathryn Ave SE #5260, Albuquerque, NM 87108. No advance registration is required to attend.
Law-La-Palooza is renowned as the largest legal fair in the Second Judicial District, offering free legal consultations to individuals seeking advice on various legal issues. This year’s event has been thoughtfully designed to cater to the diverse legal needs of the community.
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with bilingual attorneys and staff who will provide free guidance on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will be divided into two sessions:
Family Law Consultations: 9 am – 12 pm
Civil Law Consultations: 1 pm – 4 pm
Law-La-Palooza allows attendees to bring their paperwork, notes, and pleadings for immediate on-site reviews by qualified attorneys. The range of legal issues addressed during the event includes Family Law matters such as divorce, custody, child support, kinship guardianship and visitation, as well as Civil Law matters covering Real ID/name change, landlord/tenant disputes, bankruptcy, public benefits, employment issues, wills/probate, powers of attorney, immigration, contracts, and more.
Additionally, community partners will be present at the event, offering information on various services and assistance for individuals needing support beyond legal matters.
Law-La-Palooza aims to serve as many people as possible, and with the support of the Second Judicial District Pro Bono Committee, the event promises to be a resounding success.
